It is with heavy hearts that we regret to inform you of the passing of Dr. Marion H. Jordan, MD who passed away early this morning following a traffic accident.
Dr. Jordan was a long-time member of the medical staff at MedStar Washington Hospital Center where he began his career as the director of the Burn Center in 1978. Under his leadership, the burn and trauma teams received world-wide recognition for their expertise and skills, particularly after the attack on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.
Dr. Jordan was an active member and past president of the American Burn Association and an honorary member of the DC Firefighters Association IAFF Local 36. He was a close friend of the fire service and well respected by the firefighters from the Washington metropolitan region as well as around the U.S. His loss will be felt by firefighters, burn teams, and burn survivors around the country.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the Jordan family, and to burn and trauma staff at MedStar WHC who were close to Dr. Jordan.
It is with deep regret that I announce the passing of active firefighter Robert Marshall. Robert a 20 year veteran of the department who was appointed to Engine Company 19 in 1998 and at the time of his passing was assigned to 29 Engine Platoon No. 2.

the Department published a special order outlining a committee which has been
formed to review the entire incident. Although the review process commenced
